Corporation seeks qualified professionals across ten technical and administrative roles as it moves to strengthen rail operations nationwide
Kenya Railways Corporation has announced a recruitment drive for senior management positions, inviting applications from qualified and experienced Kenyan professionals to fill ten vacancies spanning technical, operational, and administrative functions.
The announcement, made on Tuesday, April 7, comes as the government accelerates its investment in rail infrastructure, including the recently launched Naivasha-Kisumu Standard Gauge Railway extension whose groundbreaking President William Ruto presided over at Suswa, Narok County, on March 19, 2026.
Available Positions
The corporation is seeking candidates for the following roles, each carrying a single vacancy:
- Rail Safety Manager
- Passenger Services Manager
- Sales and Marketing Manager
- Quality Management System and Risk Coordination Manager
- Signalling, Electrical and Communication Manager
- Technical Audit Manager
- Stores and Inventory Manager
- Train Operations Manager
- Accounts Manager
Kenya Railways noted that some of the advertised roles are being re-advertised, while others are newly introduced positions reflecting the corporation’s expanding operational scope.
Application Requirements
Prospective candidates are required to submit a comprehensive application package that includes a signed cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic and professional certificates, and a valid national identification document. Applicants must also provide a documented work history, at least two professional referees, and their salary expectations.
In line with public service requirements, candidates who are eventually shortlisted will be expected to produce clearance certificates from a range of government agencies before formal engagement. These include clearances from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a credit referencing bureau.
